Customer Review: Makes useing the Rebel XT easy.
This DVD makes learning how to use the Canon Rebel XT easy. I learned more by watching this DVD once then I have learned the whole time that I have had my Rebel XT.
Customer Review: Very Helpful Learning Tool
I learned a lot on first play. It is very helpful and I plan to watch it several times.

Capturing a portrait of twins compared to one person is more than twice as difficult. For a good comparison while retaining individual characteristics, all eyes must be focused at one point. There is a tendency to place the twins on a bench which unfortunately puts them both at the same height. This produces a static look and may lead the viewer to place false emphasis on minor height differences. Many methods can be used to place the twins at different heights. The ideal configuration is one in which the chin of the lower subject is even with the eyes of the upper subject.

Many methods can be used to attain this height difference. A small (four inch) riser can be placed under one subject or one subject can be standing. A small chair for one subject and the floor for the second satisfies the composition for a full length portrait. Teens to adults can be photographed one in an arm chair and one on the arm.
Some sporty poses have one kneeling on one knee and the other sitting back on his heels. The aim is to make a diagonal of a line drawn between the faces. This has the effect of a more dynamic and energetic composition.

For twins portraits that have a priority to compare faces, it is important to make sure that the turn of the faces is identical. If the differences in facial characteristics is important, the body angle and head angle may be slightly different. Many more exposures should be taken in order to insure there are enough good poses. Blinks, off looks and bad expressions have to be discarded.

Triplets portraiture follow the same rules with the addition of the third subject. A constant flow of conversation is helpful in keeping the triplets attention on the photographer. Make sure no two heads are in the same plane and that all three heads are the same distance from the camera. This is to minimize any effects of foreshortening. A longer than normal telephoto lens can be used to help in this department. If identical clothing is worn, extra attention should be placed in arranging the clothing for a neat effect. Inevitably, comparisons will be made. Facial expressions that are on the moderate side will help create a nicer twins portrait. Buddy pictures are ideal for twins. Arms around shoulders, leaning on one another and interaction shots (reading, gaming) play up the closeness of twins. Be sure to have twice as much fun!

Canon Powershot A640 Digital Cameras

The Canon Powershot A640 Digital Camera comes with a 10 Megapixel CCD sensor, allowing capturing of image as large as 3,648x2,736 pixels. It also comes with a 2.5 inch color swivel LCD monitor, optical viewfinder, and a 4x glass lens equivalent to 35 mm. The optical viewfinder comes handy when the LCD does not give the true picture in ambient light. The swivel LCD, on the other hand, allows you to compose shots from angles normally not possible, like from above your head or below your waist.

The camera comes with full auto focus as well as manual focus possibilities, along with an auto focus assist light. The ISO range is 80 to 800, aperture vary from f/2.8 to f/4.1 and shutter speed vary from1 /2,500 to 15 seconds.

There are three scene modes, various special effect modes and a movie mode too. The movie mode allows capturing of footage unto one hour or one Gigabytes per clip.

The Canon A640 uses SD and/or MMC Cards to store the images. It uses a USB 2.0 High speed connection for connection to a MAC or PC. Like many of the Canon A series cameras, A650 also can print directly through USB, if connected using the PictBridge technology.

The camera body is black in color. It is hefty compared to the ELPH cameras, and more like other A series cameras, more retro in style. But it provides a firm grip, allowing to take a snap with less shake. The menu buttons are conveniently located in the right side of the back panel.

The camera speed is commendable. It does not take much time to start up or shut down. The shutter speed is convenient too for those who wish to take continuous shots. But the good point about the camera is that the shots taken are truly good, colors are natural and detailing is quite well, even in the most unpromising scenario.

The camera runs on four AA batteries. The package comes with a set of four disposable batteries, and 32 MB MMC, so it would be better if you purchase some extra batteries and a bigger capacity card along with your camera.

Thank you for reading my article. If you are looking for a great deal on Canon Powershot A640 Digital Cameras visit my website. We have amazon, ebay and youtube videos to help you find the best deals at the prices.

Rick Sammon's Canon EOS Digital Rebel Personal Training Photo Workshop

Customer Review: Much less than anticiapted
I thought this would be an introductory level resource for Canon cameras. However it is really a series of very short, almost anecdotal statements by Sammon, each surrounded by 1 - 2 minutes of title graphics with a generic Macintosh iDVD music bed that quickly becomes annoying. You spend most of your time watching the titles of the chapter and the review of the chapter, all with the same monotonous music. The title and review often take longer than the actual lessons. You might watch 20 seconds of the title, get about 60 seconds of incomplete advice, then another 60 seconds of text review of the same incomplete advice. For instance his complete advice for the Chapter on Sports photography consists of him telling you to put the camera in the "Sports" mode. No kidding. Then we have the obligatory music/picture montage that repeats the advice about putting the camera in the sports mode.
Customer Review: For The Beginner
This is a great DVD for the beginning Digital SLR user. I highly recommend that if you are ready to jump right in, start here. My only complaint about this particular DVD is the navigation of the DVD Menu. There are great tips for the beginner and time is spent on how to use the manual controls.

What comes to mind when you hear the phrase, "a picture is worth a thousand words"?If you have Dyslexia or are close to someone who does; you realize that this is a much more accurate statement than many people give it credit for.It is said that a verbal thinker may have 2 to 5 thoughts per second.A dyslexic person is considered a picture thinker and would have 32 thoughts per second.Picture thinking is estimated to be, overall, 400 to 2,000 times faster than verbal thinking. This information comes from: "The Gift of Dyslexia" by Ronald D. Davis.

When a verbal thinker learns the word "CAT" for example; he has basically 4 thoughts, each letter and what they sound like together. The picture thinker on the other hand; will see the letters in the word "CAT" in at least 40 different ways, before even thinking of sounds. From an outside perspective; it seems that the picture thinker is handicapped because he or she is so much slower, but in reality they are putting MUCH more effort into the process.

Having worked for a large nation wide portrait chain before, I remember being limited to 7 shots per portrait sitting.Even if I was only shooting one subject that still came across as verbal thinking, (very limited). If I was shooting pictures of a family that gave me even fewer options.A picture thinker on the other hand; could easily shoot 30 to 40 photos of the same subject and not think anything of it.If they wanted to push themselves; a picture thinker might do 50 or 60 photos of the same subject.

Some people will argue that when you take that many photos of the same subject, of course you will get "lucky" with a few shots. In my opinion, luck has nothing to do with it.When you explore all the possibilities (not just left, right, up or down); something magical starts to happen, you start to tap into that section of the mind that too few of us dare to venture into. You start to find your creative edge in photography.

Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Leonardo de Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, John F. Kennedy, Steven Spielberg, Whoopi Goldberg, Cher, and Henry Winkler were all successful NOT in spite of having dyslexia; but largely in part because of having it.Because they were picture thinkers they had greater vision (no pun intended). You too can share in that vision by releasing yourself from your own limitations.

Of course you will have more failures; because you have made more attempts but as Thomas Edison once said, "I have not failed.I know 10,000 ways NOT to invent the light bulb."

Obviously; if you are a newspaper photographer or a portrait photographer who has people waiting in line at Christmas that would not be the best time to expand your creativity. But on the other hand, if once a week, or even just once a month you took any subject and pushed it beyond your limits . . . I guarantee those limits will start to expand.

When someone has mastered something, they have learned it so well they can do it without thinking about what they are doing. It is human nature that we all learn by doing.I invite you to step outside your comfort zone and shoot more photos than you have ever shot on a single subject in your life. This process will help transform you from a verbal thinker into a picture thinker.Remember, as a man thinketh, so is he.

Once you master how you think, you will discover your gift is no longer a handicap. You will be seeing things without effort that a dozen other photographers at the same event will miss.If you are serious about photography this is how you take your photo work to the next level.

Customer Review: Very disappointed with customer service
This is not the item that I ordered. I ordered the duo set remote controls for taking picutres that was a combo buy not a battery. Contacted the seller several time by email and no resonds to correct the order. No phone number to call seller! Now I have an extra battery and no remotes.
Customer Review: Canon NB-2LC Rechargeable battery
Bought this as a backup battery for my canon G9 camera. In the past I have always bought the cheapest off-brand batteries at eBay or Amazon as backup for my cameras and never had a problem with any of them. They were for emergencies only and worked great until I could get back to the hotel and charge the "GOOD" battery. But in this case the camera was much better than I normally would buy so I "splurged". The canon battery was still more than $20.00 cheaper in retail price than at the local store and the no tax and shipping made it still cheaper. I am still a fan of much cheaper off-brands though.

For the active stock photographer, placing your images on a Web-based on-line photo gallery can be a showcase for your stock photography. In some cases, it can also be an opportunity to make new photobuyer contacts and sales. The photo albums, or malls as they are sometimes called, range from companies that provide film printing service, to high profile sites that attract professional photobuyers.

If you are just starting out you can sign up with a free site to test the process. These sites usually limit entries to three or four dozen images. You also have to put up with boundless advertising accompanying your page. You need to be aware that professional photobuyers rarely frequent these kinds of sites.

Some on-line photo sites dont permit extensive keywording. This would limit the ability of a photo researcher searching this site to target in on a specific image that needs to be described in several specific words. Be sure to choose a site that allows extensive captioning (photo descriptions) for each picture. Youll find Portfolios.com does this, but its expensive: $599 per year. It does not carry any advertising.

We have listed a few dozen current gallery sites that we have discovered over the past year. We've listed them all, but be prepared that some of them may already be out of business by now. Which brings up a second caution note for when you choose a free site. Research the stability of the site carefully, the way you need to do when choosing an Internet Service Provider. If the site is not in business in a year from now, youll have an uphill task to transfer the increasing numbers of your images to another site.

And finally, the site may be free and well-designed, but if its getting few visitors, it would not be the site for you if youre planning on selling your stock photography. You can check whether a site gets lots of visitors, by using the (free) software, www.alexa.com, to see the ranking that Alexa gives the site.

Two gallery sites we can recommend with confidence, are of course, our own: http://www.photosourcefolio.com, and http://www.photosourcegroup.com. Our Folio site offers you the chance to display ample-sized photos, and is associated with our well-known website www.photosource.com, which gets 8,000 visitors (50,000 hits) per day. Thats a million hits per month. No other stock photography-oriented site on the web gets this many hits per day. For our marketletter subscribers we offer an extensive on-line gallery called www.photosourcegroup.com. This is a text-centric site that works with search engines such as Google. The buyer types in a keyword phrase in a search engine, plus the word photosource, to land on the photographers page.

If you have discovered other Photo Gallery sites that we have not listed, or if you have comments about existing sites, please share them with us. -RE

Customer Review: great lens!
Just receive my 18-50 Lens on Sat and get to do some night landscape shoot with this lens ! the image is clear and sharp! focusing is fast with teh F2.8 stop... great lens for the price!
Customer Review: AF issues, Chromatic abberations too severe
Perhaps I was unlucky and got one of the bad ones but I found this lens completely unreliable. My first issue is the auto-focus (on canon 40D). I had more missed shots with this lens than I've ever had with any other..pretty slow AF also. I found the chromatic abberations unacceptable on a great number of shots as well. On the other hand, I took some beautiful macro shots with this lens. Particularly using live view with manual focus...fantastic. It seems that Sigma lenses are hit and miss QC wise from what I'm reading. Too bad because it really feels like a well built, quality lens. I returned mine to amazon as defective.

Sneak Peek

You will fall in love with the Acer 5920 at the first sight. This laptop comes in a rectangular form as every other laptop but its delicate curves give it a fine oval shape and to top it all its shiny black color adds to its beauty. In totality it gives the notebook a sense of quality and yet it has not been open. But once you open the notebook you find a pleasant contrast. The inside of the laptop comes in a cream color ceramic finish. It feels good to see the light distinction compared against the dark outer surface.

Design

The design of Acer 5920 is obviously a key part of its appeal, but it does not make the performance and functionality any lesser. Indeed, the notebook continues to make an impression in this area too with an outstanding requirement. At the core of Acer 5920 is a new Santa Rosa certified Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0GHz CPU, with 800MHz Front Side Bus. This is the third fastest of the four new Santa Rosa Core 2 Duo's.

Core Information

The keyboard has shortcut keys on its sides. You will find the media playback keys on the right and on the left side you will find miscellaneous functioning keys such as Wireless, Internet, Mail and Bluetooth. One thing to notice over here is that the media keys are very receptive to touch. This can create some problem when you are doing some important work. But with time you will get used to it and keep in mind to avoid touching it. Other orderly touches include USB logos on either side which indicate where the USB ports are, as well as a middle click button that doubles as a scroll wheel, and the 0.3 megapixel camera that's cleverly integrated into the clip for the lid.

Cutting Edge Technology

The Acer 5920 is also supported with a 1 GB turbo memory module. It helps in utilizing ReadyDrive and ReadyBoost. Another remarkable feature of the notebook is the Dolby Home Theatre. The audio hardware is provided by RealTek which includes Dolby's Digital, Digital Live, Pro Logic II, Headphone and Virtual Speaker technologies. These are great features to have but to top it all its Dolby Headphone is the real draw, adding superb surround effects to games and films when using headphones.

Conclusion

The Acer 5920 is a very stylish laptop with all the useful technologies that will be needed by you.

Composition in nature photography comes easy to some, but many new photographers struggle to find their balance. This is especially true where wildlife is concerned.

There is a bit of false wisdom about that says: "You should never put your animal right in the middle of the photo - only to the left or the right." This is simply not true, but it is a notion that causes all sorts of anxiety for new photographers.

If you don't put your animal in the middle of the photo, where do you put it? And what do you do with all that extra space? Well, it may (or may not) encourage you to know that there is not really any hard and fast rule to answer these questions. Like all things in composition, it really depends on your own sense of visual balance. So good composition requires you to have the confidence to trust your own judgment.

That doesn't mean you are on your own when it comes to learning composition. The answers to the following questions may help you if you are struggling to get started.

Question #1. Can I Position My Subject In The Middle? In certain situations this can work just fine. If you are shooting a portrait-style photo where the animal subject fills up much of the frame, it can make sense to place it right in the centre. This approach can seem perfectly natural, especially when the subject is looking right at the camera. In this case there is nothing to indicate a shift to one side or the other, and to do so may just create wasted space.

For this type of photo, where the subject fills most of the picture, it is important to leave a bit of breathing room around the head of the subject. Your picture will look more balanced if there is a little space between the subject and the edge of the frame, rather than showing the subject cramped into the composition.

Question #2. Should My Subject Go On The Left Or The Right? Your answer to this question should be guided by the physical positioning of the subject. As a general rule, it is preferable to have your subject looking toward the middle of the picture, rather than toward the edge of the frame. So if your subject is facing to the left, shift its position a little to the right, and vice-versa.

It is not necessary to move the subject all the way over to one side. In fact many of my wildlife photos show the head of the animal right in the centre of the picture, with the body leading in from one side or the other. So the position of the subject is only slightly to the left or right. The important thing is that there is more space in front of the subject than behind it.

Question #3. What Do I Do With All That Extra Space? If you get the balance right in a portrait-style photo, the extra space will not appear too empty. In fact, it looks quite natural to have a little empty area for your subject to look into.

Problems can arise when you take your photo from further away, with a lot more space around the subject. This is when you really have to do some creative thinking about how to put that extra space to work in your composition.

The more space that appears around the subject, the more information you reveal about the environment it was photographed in. As an artist, it is up to you to make that work for you. I always believe in the principle; "Anything that does not make my photo better, makes it worse." You need to ask yourself if showing more of the surroundings actually adds to the impact of the photo. If not, you may be better to zoom in and eliminate the extra space. However, the surroundings can add interest and impact to a picture if you know how to use them well.

You already know that if your subject is facing to the right, you should position it to the left so that it looks into the picture. In that case, if you have another object that adds interest, you should try to position it to the right - so the animal is facing towards it. The idea is to try to establish a relationship between the animal and the surroundings. If you do this well, all the elements of the composition will be working together, adding to the impact of the entire picture.

For example, imagine a bird on a branch alongside some flowers. If the bird is facing away from the flowers, they are just two random objects in the same photo. But if the bird is facing toward the flowers, your photo tells a completely different story.

This may sound simple, but good wildlife photos are the result of patience, perserverence, and lots of wasted exposures before you get that perfect shot. However, don't think of them as wasted exposures. Every time you press the shutter you add to your experience, and it is with experience that you will begin to trust your instincts and settle on a style of composition that expresses your love of the subject.

Composition, aperture, shutter speed, depth of field...all the essentials of good photography seem simple when they are explained in terms you can understand. There is a new and easy way to get paid to submit photos online. It is called micro stock photography and many photographers are now taking part in this amazing opportunity. It is not hard to get into the process and start earning some money off your photos either. This article will show you how.

Micro stock photography websites are filled with thousands of photos that are being sold per download. People come to these sites for stock photos that they could use in their websites, advertisements, books, magazines, and art. Think of an ad you saw in print or a website with a picture...most likely it was a stock photo. Nowadays, companies don't have time to send out photographers to take pictures for them. Instead, they go for high quality stock photos. That's where you come in...

If you can take photos then you can supply these photos. And with micro stock websites, the process is now very easy. These websites take the hard work right away. They get loads of traffic from buyers every single day and all you have to do is load your photos to their site and they're up and available for people to buy. Very simple and convenient.

When someone downloads your photo you earn around .25 cents. This may seem small, because it is. However, if you have a handful of photos getting downloaded a couple times a day, it can really add up to be a nice part time income. It's also a great way to start earning money from photos you take.

    Customer Review: canon lenses
I bought 2 of these sets and was pleased with the lenses and the price. The shipping was prompt. Both receivers of the gift were very happy with the purchase.
Customer Review: Good for the money
Just as some other reviews have reflected, these lens are good for the money, but not professional quality. I find that at the top zoom setting, they can be a little blurry and/or washed out. And not suited for action shots. But I've gotten some good pictures and do not regret my purchase. Someday I will buy a top-quality tele lens.

Canon Powershot A2000IS 10MP Digital Camera with 6x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom

Inside its sleek, pared down design, the top-of-the-line PowerShot A2000 IS is packed with easy-to-usefeatures. Youve got a 10.0-megapixel resolution and a 6x optical zoom with Optical Image Stabilizer forbig, beautiful prints and superb stability. To keep subjects looking their best, the DIGIC III ImageProcessor with Canon Face Detection handles the technical details -- automatically. Easy Mode allowsyou to concentrate on your scene, while Easy Playback lets you screen your images on a super-sized 3.0-inch LCD.
Customer Review: I had high hopes but am very disappointed
I had high hopes for this Canon A2000 IS because I really love the convenience of using a camera that takes easily available batteries, instead of one that needs to be constantly recharged. I was also looking forward to this model because Canon reduced the size, and for me, the smaller and lighter, the better. Unfortunately, Canon needs to go back to the drawing board. The camera is oddly shaped...shaped like a wedge. I dislike this wedge shape. The picture on Amazon doesn't show the wedge shape. You have to be looking down on the top or the bottom to see it. I don't really like the way the camera feels while holding it. It's not as good as some of the other A Series. The camera also feels heavier than I thought it would feel, based on the description. I expected the camera to be lighter in weight and easier to carry in my pocket. I am disappointed with the flash recharge time between shots. There is a good chance you will miss an important shot occasionally while waiting for the flash to recharge. The zoom while shooting video with this camera is digital zoom, and the results are poor. If you use the zoom, you won't be able to read words or see some things clearly. I recommend not using the zoom when recording video. Digital still pictures are the same quality you expect with this type of Canon Point & Shoot Camera, as long as you shoot at the low ISO. Once you try to shoot in low light or at a higher ISO, the typical noise level is there. I was hoping that Canon would have improved their image sensor on their $250 cameras by now, but they have not. The 6X Optical Zoom while shooting still pictures is great. Macro mode for very close up shots is great. The 3" LCD screen is very nice and clear (unless you are outside in bright sunlight, of course). Conclusion: If you really desire a camera that accepts alkaline batteries, put the A2000 IS on your list. If the battery issue is not important to you, I would avoid this camera. In my opinion, if Canon or any other company releases a better camera that takes alkaline batteries, you will dump this camera in a second. (I know I will.) I guess this means that this can be your temporary AA-battery-operated camera until something better comes along. If you already own a camera that you are happy with, this camera is not going to make you happier, and there is no need to buy it.

HDTV otherwise known as the plasma television has been around for awhile, but only recently have they come into their own. Today they are more popular than ever. One of the main reasons for the increase in popularity is that they're not as expensive as they used to be, because competition in manufacturing of the product has grown exponentially.

Another reason that HDTV has increased in popularity is because of better technology. When the plasma television first came out its lifespan was only around 30,000 to 40,000 hours -- and since then it has dramatically increased as quality of the HDTV delivers on a more consistent basis.

As well, the life of the newer plasma television has also increased with the introduction of a multitude of new technologies that have been released. They've all help to increase not only the lifespan of plasma television, but the quality of it as well.

Unlike the standard television, plasma television screens are real space savers with their thin models that can be hung on the walls, come with special stands, and they actually don't take up too much room. By contrast, when you turn your HDTV you on, it actually dominates the room, because the color is so excellent and so clear.

Most people will stop what they're doing in order to watch it. The difference between LCD and plasma is that the television has 160 that you can look at it. So, it isn't a problem if you're viewing it from several different locations.

The newer HDTV's come equipped with high quality speakers that are attached to both sides of the screen. They give you stereo sound, and if you want to make the investment for a home theater system, it's just like you're in the movies. If you don't make the home theater investment, the speakers that come with the television are more than enough for casual viewers.

HDTV provides higher resolution than standard monitors, and a plasma screen has literally millions of gas filled cells, which act as a single image pixel trapped between two pieces of glass. The most expensive plasma television or HD television displays over 16 million different colors.

Inside the plasma television, there are transistor electrodes, but instead of operating as a result of a laser hitting every single pixel like it does on standard televisions, in the HD television it is built with single transistor electrodes for each pixel. That's one of the main reasons that plasma HD television can be so small.

You don't need a massive space in the back of the television in order to accommodate the electrode gun. The picture you see on HDTV is the result of each pixel varying in intensity to produce a different color. And when that happens, every pixel in the picture consists of millions of pixels being produced.

If you're interested in the technology behind HD television, or you are just looking for high quality television to replace your old box, plasma television or HDTV is definitely the way to go.

Is it a plasma tv or an Lcd, what's the difference? Don't just buy an HDTV. Learn what you must know to get the best one for you. HDTV - The Ultimate Viewing Experience
